| TRAVELLIN’
...a photographic exhibition
Travellin’... that is what this exhibition
is about. In the casual sense of the word, it is something many
young Australians seem to do. I certainly had always wanted to
travel, inspired by my parents’ adventurous journeys from
Holland and Yugoslvia to Darwin, Australia.
I had wanted to go to Bosnia, my father’s
home country. For some reason my family were not encouraging with
that plan. So instead I cruised around many and varied countries
with no particular aim. I did know that I wanted to see other
places and visually document these experiences. These photographs
are snippets of my journal, depicting that sense of wandering.
I see them now and remember the thoughts, the joy and the struggles
that I was having at the time. These images. Some being necessarily
voyeuristic, others engaged amongst emotion. Paralleling how being
a traveller, for three years, can feel.
